The Vancouver Sith have concluded two more trades this week. The teams involved with these recent transactions are the Boston Bruins and the Surrey Rebels.

The deal with the Bears came first when GM Edwards was asked about the availability of Shawn Kilroy, who was a Bruin 3 seasons ago. It's no secret Edwards has been after RW Jess Chew for a while so after some back and forth between the two sides a deal was struck. Kilroy was off to Boston with team mate RW Alexei Shastlivy, in return the Sith got younger on the right side with Jess Chew coming to Vancouver, a yr24 Boston 2nd round pick rounded out the deal.
I have been trying to help the RW situation out on our roster. I had hoped the draft would fill this hole, but the RW's in the draft were putrid! Chew has tremendous upside and we hope he will be our guy. Shastlivy we picked up on waivers last year so turning him into a 2nd and making Chew a Sith made sense.

The 2nd deal was with longtime hated rival and despised city of Surrey, after a few minutes when all the obscenities and insults stop flying back and forth cooler heads prevailed and a deal was hammered out. Long time defensive back bone Bill Cass and young centre Charles Fraser changed postal codes heading to Surrey. In return coming back to Vancouver is a familiar face LW Stefan Albelin, along with a 2nd and 5th round draft pick. This deal makes some sense as Vancouver have some considerable depth on defense and desperately need some scoring potential with the loss of some veterans. It may take some time for Stefan to cleanse himself of the Rebel stench but he has potential for 30 plus goals and will be getting better minutes in Vancouver to accomplish that.

This reporter has a question for GM Edwards, has this madness ended?? 12 trades since pre-draft, so many i've lost count of the assets that have changed hands.

One preseason game remains against the despicable Seattle Knucklers, then on to the regular season. Maybe I should wait to begin my season preview, just in case something changes....again!
