In order for a promo to be valid, it needs to show as 7 lines or more when published.

A second slap to the face

After losing their season opened to Boston, Winnipeg jumped back in their second game of the season, winning 4-3 against Vancouver. Hopes were high and the team seemed to be on track...but the expansion Wild Wings blocked the path last night.

Playing at the LCA for the first time, the Jets roster probably thought this was going to be an easy game against the expansion team. They eventually got their asses handed to them. The Jets that is... Winnipeg really needs to figure out what to do in the first period when they play games, because after giving up a 3-0 lead to Boston, Winnipeg gave a 4-0 lead to Vermont in last night's first period.

Vermont was 3 for 6 on the powerplay while the Jets finished the night 0 for 4. Another dismal performance on special teams.

Larocque was again horrible in net, giving up 4 goals in less than 18 minutes in the first period. Coach Mandrope eventually pulled Larocque from the game. Enter Jerome Butler. He gave up 4 goals as well and ended up getting the hook too in the third period, sending Larocque back in the game for the remainder of the third period.

Clearly this Winnipeg team is disorganized early in the season. Giving up 16 goals in only 3 games is not the kind of hockey the Winnipeg managements enjoys watching. There definitely will need to be some players who wake up because the season has started and jobs could eventually be on the line if things don't settle down.

Next game tonight against Philadelphia at the Whiteout Center in Winnipeg.
