Kris Miller gets 40th win

It was a very important game for the Jets last night as they are currently in the middle of a 6-game road trip. Already being on the road for a long trip is not easy, it's even harder at this time in the regular season as all teams are working twice as hard to position themselves favorably for the playoffs. Needless to say, when the Jets arrived in Surrey to play the Stingers, they didn't care about the fatigue of the travelling, they just wanted the win.

Kris Miller came to this game with only one thing in mind: Win #40. A plateau he has never reached in his career, even though he has more than 250 wins now. In a furious race against his opponent from last night for the Vezina trophy, Radoslav Smid, Miller made his intentions clear in showing that even though they will be tightly matched for who gets the best goalie's trophy when the season ends, it's winning the playoffs that matter the most.

Let's face it, Surrey and Winnipeg are the top two contenders for the big trophy this season. Winnipeg has shown that they can play and win against the big guys. After last night's 3-2 win, the Jets confirmed the 2-game sweep of the season series with the Stingers. The first game had finished 7-5 in favor of the Jets in Winnipeg.

Mark Major has become the Stingers' nemesis as he has accumulated 4 goals and 2 assists in the two games between both teams. But the most important thing was the team win and that win, was win #40 for Kris Miller.

Yeah I'm happy about my 40th win. But it was a team effort. We took the lead in the first and I made sure that they wouldn't have a chance to come back. Personal records and accomplishments are fun and all, but it's the W that counts in the end. I have 40 and we want 50 as a team. We're only 2 away now which shows how tight this group of guys is. Winning is the only thing on our mind and we intend to add 16 more after the regular season ends.

After the game in Surrey, the Jets hopped on the plane on their way to Edmonton where they will face the Oilers who have been struggling this season. Winnipeg has won the only other game between the two teams this season by a score of 5-3. It was the very first game of the ANHS regular season as both teams faced in the finals when the Jets hoisted the cup for the first time since Season 1. After Edmonton, the Jets will travel to Baltimore and Montreal before going back home to face the lowly Denver Reign.
