It's been a long time coming but after a 0-3 start to their inaugural season, the Baltimore Thunder have recorded the first regular season win in franchise history. The victory came at the expense of the Philadelphia Flyers on the road. A 4-2 doubling of the Flyers was sealed in the second period when Assistant Captain, Dave Sikorski, scored the game winning goal on the power play.

Goaltender, Nathan Spezza turned away 27 of 29 shots on goal for the win. The goaltending situation in Baltimore is still very much in question as Spezza and Alex Imbault continue to battle it out for the starting role. Head Coach Brian McCutcheon said that he loves the competition between his two netminders, saying "The entire team benefits from it while they both give 110% every time they are on the ice".

The offense finally showed signs of life, firing 43 shots at the Flyers Riku Hahl. The Thunder are still in search of their first home win. The next opportunity for it will be on Day 5 when they complete the second part of a home and home series with Philadelphia. After that, they will entertain the NJ Devils in a home and home series as well.

Behind the scenes, GM Clow continues to listen to and entertain offers in an effort to start building some depth. At this time though, he has gone on record to say nothing is close to being done. "We continue to be open for business", he said earlier today. "It's our first season and we have a long way to go to build something that will contend each year. We are building from the ground up".
