GAME ONE: Edmonton Oilers 3 - Seattle Knucklers 4 O/T :D
GAME TWO: Edmonton Oilers - Seattle Knucklers

It was just as predicted, a hard nosed series between these two very similar clubs.

4:36- Knucklers, Shane McGregor and Oilers, Bruno St.Jacques stood toe to toe. Each exchanged several swings before both fell to the ice with Bruno on top. This was just proof that both clubs want to win this game. Bruno got the edge in the battle, but I believe the 5 minutes each received for fighting was clearly an edge for the Knucklers.

8:12- Knucklers, Jussi Tarvainen took a 2 minute holding call. While the puck was in the Knucklers end for most of the PP, the Oilers could not connect.

17:30- Oilers, Sebastian Simard took a 2 minute roughing penalty responding to a big hit against him in the boards. This gave the opportunity for the Knucklers PP to test the waters. It didnt take long as captain David Bernier potted the PP goal at 17:46. Assists went to Kudinov and Smirnov. The remaining two minutes ticked off the clock. Oilers 0 - Knucklers 1

6:08- Knucklers, Barry Roche and Mike McLaughlin went in 2 on 1 and didnt make a mistake as Roche took the feed and potted his first of the Playoffs. Oilers 0 - Knucklers 2

7:26 - Knucklers, Wayne Smith took a 2 minute penalty and before he could take a sip from the water bottle, Oilers Darcy Norton had the Oilers on the scoreboard. Oilers 1 - Knucklers 2

The remainder of the period saw the Oilers on the penalty kill once more, but kill it they did. Ending the period. Oilers 1 - Knucklers 2

If anything, the Knucklers know what to practice during the morning skate. The Oilers, with PP goals by Dave MacLean at 14:15 and Igor Arkatov at 18:24, gave the Oilers the lead for the first time in the game. Oilers 3 - Knucklers 2.

Fans in the Funhouse Arena went silent as the last 2 minutes was voiced throughout the Arena. With the goaltender out for an extra attacker, it was do or die time. The Knucklers entered the Oilers end and began to move the puck. Shane McGregor took the puck around the back of the net and fed a pass to the right side where Kudinov simply directed the puck back to defenseman Alexander Smirnov. At 19:03, Smirnov, with a huge blast from the point that went by everyone, including Oilers goaltender James Walsh tied the game. Oilers 3 - Knucklers 3

Both finished the period playing a defense first minded game.

Just 32 seconds into the third period, Andrei Kudinov of the Knucklers took a feed at center. He was in full flight crossing the blue line, and as he broke towards the net, Oilers, Sebastien Simard could do nothing but stick his stick into Kudinov's skates and take a tripping call. The fans hollared, " Penalty shot, Penalty shot, Penalty shot ", but the ref wouldn't take the bait.

At 1:13, it was the same trio who started it all off, captain David Bernier, standing at the side of the net, banged in his second goal of the game to win it for the Knucklers. Oilers 3 - Knucklers 4 O/T

GM Lada spoke, " It was a good start for the guys getting the win after going down like they did in the third period. I know I'll be getting coach Terry Murray on these guys to practice the PK. The Oilers almost won the game with PP goals."

So, game one is in the books. Game two tonight, lets hope the fans sell the arena out this time as they were 400 short. Most likely because of the recent play during the regular season. Should be another good one. I'm Scott Nickel saying, coin toss Knucklers game one.
